Group Strategy Director

New York, United States Full-time

There are three reasons why the strategically hungry come to Brooklyn’s Big Spaceship: to break free from thinking-by-department, to get closer to making, and to work with clients striving to recalibrate their business around digital.

We believe how you do makes what you do. That’s why we sit in teams, not departments. That’s why we have values, not rules. That’s why we discuss our personal aspirations for projects before they start.

Our approach led Fast Company to list us in the “World’s Ten Most Innovative Advertising Companies”, and Harvard Business Review to write two case studies about us.

We’re currently looking for a curious, down-to-earth, jargon-free Group Strategy Director with over 10 years of experience.

Here’s what we need in you:

  1. You are a brand thinker - you love brands and relish uncovering the role they can play in people’s lives
  2. You can dig into business - you have experience, and interest in helping businesses grow, transform and innovate
  3. You co-create ideas - you know a real idea when you see one; you can provide the right stimulus at the right time to tease more out of your creative partners.
  4. You grew up digital – this isn’t about spending every waking hour on Twitter. It’s about knowing how to partner with analysts, prove hypothesis with data and identify the right digital opportunities for the brands under your wing.
  5. You lead & manage the right way - you lead & manage your team with vision and empathy. You foster a spirit of collaboration, openness and accountability. You can bring clarity and calm when there is chaos.
  6. You love this stuff -  stories of innovation, trends and topics that inspires you both online and offline. We want a person who keeps the team inspired, curious and open-minded.
