Senior UX Product Designer

As a Sr. UX Product Designer at Big Spaceship, you will get to work on products, platforms and services with the goal of delivering maximum value to our clients and their customers.

In partnership with Strategy, Analytics, Visual Design, Content Strategy, Product Management, Technology, Account, Delivery and other disciplines, you will collaborate with internal and client stakeholders through each phase of a user-centered design process.

The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about creating meaningful and innovative experiences that deliver measurable outcomes, possesses a learning and growth mindset, and easily adapts to changing demands and constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Develop information architecture, interaction design patterns, user flow diagrams, wireframes, sketches, page schematics, clickable flow and microinteraction prototypes.
  • Partner with Visual Designers to create or evolve previously established design systems.
  • Participate in collaborative design sessions and reviews.
  • Take part in qualitative and quantitative research activities.
  • Take part in business stakeholder interviews.
  • Clearly and confidently present work while providing rationale for decisions made.
  • Effectively collaborate and communicate with other disciplines.
  • Recognize and recommend the most efficient and effective type of deliverable and level of fidelity for the task at hand.
  • Take part in recruitment of new talent by participating in screenings, interviews and reviews of portfolios and resumes.
  • Contribute to pitches and business development efforts.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in UX/product design.
  • A portfolio containing case studies and samples of UX/product design work including user flows, design systems, page schematics, prototypes, etc.
  • Deep desire to understand real users motivations, behaviors and goals.
  • Experience designing for responsive web, email, native mobile applications and other platforms.
  • Experience building flexible, modular design systems for responsive web, email, native mobile applications and other platforms.
  • Expertise with advanced Sketch features such as nested symbols, libraries, resizing constraints, etc.
  • Experience with user flow prototyping tools like InVision and microinteraction prototyping tools like Principal, Framer, Keynote or others.
  • Understanding of accessibility best practices.
  • Experience working with and handing off design assets to internal, third party or client side development teams.
  • Experience with waterfall, agile, lean and hybrid design and development workflows.
  • Ability to recognize when to work autonomously and when collaboration with the larger team is necessary.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to present work, express opinions, design rationale, as well as give and receive feedback in a constructive and collaborative manner within internal teams and in front of client stakeholders.
