Junior Community Strategist

We're looking for a detail-oriented and creative Junior Community Strategist to join our crew here at Big Spaceship on a mobile game-focused client.


The ideal candidate for this position enjoys being extremely organized and has strong writing chops. We're looking for an enthusiastic candidate who's ready to jump in on an already-established client relationship.


This role requires someone who possesses a robust understanding of all social platforms and a keen eye for detail. The candidate should be dialed-in to internet culture (memes, internet personalities, trends, habits, etc.) and constantly curious about the future of the industry. This role also requires deep knowledge and passion for gaming, especially mobile games.


Roles + Responsibilities

  • Community management
    • Publishing daily social content across all social channels (Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Tumblr and more)
    • Prioritize users within a 6 million follower base for 1:1 attention
    • Write replies that achieve client goals and build community
    • Manage large user lists within custom dashboards for tracking
    • Support team in collating reports about the community
  • Research & Strategy
    • Writing and contributing to editorial client-facing deliverables including articles and newsletters on relevant topics
    • Contributing to quarterly content analysis with actionable community insights
    • Ongoing monitoring and analysis of competitor content
    • Strategic insight gathering and synthesis
    • Remaining up to date on industry technology and social platform news and updates
  • Creative Support
    • Copywriting support when needed
    • Participation in brainstorms & creative ideation
  • Ad Hoc
    • Ability to professionally and enthusiastically communicate and collaborate with clients
    • Coordination with local markets in order to syndicate prefab content
    • Proactively seeking out ways to support the team

Skills + Experience

  • 1 - 2 years of professional social media experience in an agency or brandside capacity
  • Mobile gaming and pop culture knowledge
  • 6+ years of personal social media experience across 4 - 8 different platforms
  • Expert-level knowledge of social media trends
  • Strong writing skills, including a mastery of grammar and syntax
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Presentation skills
  • Ability to interpret quantitative and quantitative analysis
  • Experience with Google Docs, Google Slides and Google Sheets
    • Proficiency in Keynote is a plus
  • Experience with social media publishing programs (i.e. Sprinklr, Hootsuite, SproutSocial)
